- Camp Nurse
Description
Under the direction of, and in conjunction with, the Camp Director, the Nurse will oversee the safety and well-being of campers and staff. The Nurse will administer and maintain the camp infirmary for 24-hour operation. Will facilitate a friendly, healthy and fun atmosphere while delivering a developmental program to assist child(ren) in personal growth, maturity, good hygiene and socialization. The Nurse will function as an authority, as well as a friend to the child(ren) during his/her camp experience. Will facilitate encouraging child(ren) to set new goals as well as to achieve established ones and encourage making independent decisions to act on without parental guidance or support.
Compensation: $400 per 24 hour period
Requirements
- RN, PA, LPN, NP, DO, or EMT licensed in New Jersey.
- Three (3+) plus years’ nursing experience.
- Working knowledge of New Jersey health care laws and regulations and American Camp Association standards.
- Ability to explain treatments and conditions to various levels, including children of all ages.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organization skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient in computer software programs such as Microsoft Office software and other database systems.
- At least two (2) seasons (Camp) working with children in an active setting, including knowledge of recreation and environmental activities.
- Strong problem solving and leadership skills.
- Ability to communicate with a wide variety of guests in a professional manner, displaying tact and diplomacy when needed in various venues, i.e., public speaking and presentations.
- Previous experience working with diverse populations preferred.
- CPR and First Aid certification will be required.
