CAMP LOHIKAN in the Pocono Mts.
Camp Lohikan is a coed resident summer camp located in Wayne County, which is situated in northeast Pennsylvania. Camp Lohikan is a traditional summer camp for boys and girls of the ages 6 to 15. We are located in the Pocono Mountains of northeastern Pennsylvania in the village of Lake Como. We're about 2.5 hours from New York City. Our campers come to camp from all over the world. Camp Lohikan has been operated by the Buynak since 1957. We are a warm, welcoming camp community dedicated to caring for our campers and staff. THE HEALTH SUPERVISOR
The Health Supervisor manages infirmary operations and supervises the medical staff. The supervisor reports directly to the camp director and is ultimately responsible for monitoring the health care given and the well-being of our campers and staff.
In past summers, the Health Supervisor has been an RN, NP, PA, LPN, EMT, or MD, who has had organizational and managerial skills and experience with children and adults with common health issues as well as medical emergencies.

HEALTH CENTER and MEDICAL STAFF
- The Health Center is staffed with 6-7 nurses and 2 assistants and a camp doctor on a daily basis.
- The Medical Staff includes RNs, NPs, PAs, LPNs, EMTs, and MDs.
- All medical staff members are provided private accommodations which are equipped with a private restroom and shower.
- The Health Center is staffed 24 hours a day and equipped to provide first-aid and minor treatment.
- The Health Center is modern and comfortable. and features: a treatment room, isolation room, separate sleeping quarters (with private bathrooms) for boys and girls, and a kitchenette
- The Health Center also features high-speed internet access.

HEALTH SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide medical, health, educational, and professional guidance
- Maintain a healthy camp population by promoting and stressing good health habits
- Prevent incidence and spread of disease
- Ensure the preparation of quality reports and maintain accurate records of all injuries, illnesses, medications administered, and treatments rendered
- Prepare weekly work schedules for the medical staff at each Health Center.
- Assign medical staff to cover 'Sick Call', which takes place after each meal and again at bedtime
- Assist in the 24-hour supervision of the Health Center. Alleviate accidents by promoting and enforcing the camp's safety and health policies
- Provide an active presence in the camp community and interact with campers
- Supervise sanitation and safety practices throughout the camp
- Work together as a team with the other medical staff.
- Possess a good sense of humor!
