Benefits Package
The Blessing Health System is pleased to offer a well-rounded total compensation package for our employees. The following is a brief summary of the benefits available. Many benefits are provided at no cost to employees.
Compensation
•Merit Increases: Progression increases to top of range based upon overall work performance and/or skill level. Per Diem employees may progress to mid-point within their salary range.
•Time-And-A-Half/Holiday Pay: Applied to hours worked on the six Hospital-recognized holidays.
•Overtime: 1-1/2 times hourly rate for all hours worked over 40 in the work week.
•Shift Differential: $1 per hour additional compensation for employees who work more than 50 percent of a shift between 6 p.m. - 7a.m.
•Functional Differential: 10 percent of current salary additional compensation for employees temporarily filling a supervisory position at least two pay grades higher than their present grade.
•Paid Time Off (Vacations, Holidays, Personal Time and Sick Time): Paid time off from work; amount based on years of service; accumulates with each pay period. Available to employees working at least 16 hours per week.
Health Care Package
•Air Evac Membership: Transportation to Blessing Hospital or other tertiary care facilities by helicopter in the event of a medical emergency.
•Employee Assistance Plan: Five hours of free counseling for employee or immediate family member.
•Employee Health Services: Professional attention to health needs while on duty.
•Physical Assessment: Physical assessment conducted by Employee Health Nurse.
•TB Test: Annual TB Test for employees with direct patient contact.
•Fitness Center: The Fitness Center is open 24 hours a day on Blessing Hospital's 14th Street campus at no cost to employees.
•Health Care Plan: Two levels of comprehensive hospital and medical coverage for employee and dependents at reasonable employer-sponsored group rates paid by the employee.
•Prescription Plan: Prescriptions are filled at the Hospital Pharmacy. Charges to the employee (fill charge, co-pay, etc.) are paid through payroll deduction by using Hospital photo ID badge or family pharmacy card.
•Dental Coverage (Optional): Two levels of dental care coverage for employee and dependent at a reasonable group rate.
•Vision Coverage (Optional): Comprehensive vision coverage for employee and dependents at a reasonable group rate.
Insurance Programs
•Accidental Death & Dismemberment: Coverage available for employee, spouse (under age 70) and also dependent children up to age 25 if full-time students in accredited schools or colleges. Employee pays premium.
•Life Insurance: Coverage available up to five times annual salary (not to exceed $650,000) for employee and up to $100,000 on spouse (under age 70) and $10,000 on dependent children up to age 25 if full-time students in accredited schools or colleges. Employee pays premium.
•Liability: Coverage in performance of assigned duties.
•Long Term Disability: Hospital provides 50 percent continuing income up to a maximum of $10,000 per month after six months disability.
•Short Term Disability: Option 1 (60 percent of salary up to $1,154 weekly) is provided by the Hospital to full-time and part-time employees. Option 2 improves the benefit to 75 percent, up to a maximum of $1,442 weekly, with premium paid by employee. Short Term Disability may be supplemented with Paid Time Off.
•Worker's Compensation: Medical care and percentage of income for job related injuries and illness.
Retirement Package
•Pension Plan: Defined benefit retirement program to provide income supplementing Social Security benefits. 100 percent vesting after five years qualified service.
•403(b): Opportunity to set aside a part of earnings that are not taxable until withdrawn at retirement. A portion will be matched after one year. Must be 21 years of age and employed one year.
•Social Security: Financial assistance at retirement or disability. Blessing matches contributions.
Other Benefits
•Cafeteria: Discount on selected food purchases with a employee photo ID badge.
•Child Care: On-site Child Care Center for your children ages six weeks through 11 years while at work. Employees pay fee, however, Blessing does subsidize the Center's expenses.
•Credit Union: Members First Credit Union or Great River Community Credit Union.
•Educational Assistance: Financial assistance, leave of absence, or rescheduling work to attend classes. Lifetime maximum of $20,000 for graduate and undergraduate courses.
•Flexible Spending Accounts: Employees may elect to participate in Health Care and/or Dependent Care savings accounts. With the exception of Dependent Life Insurance, employee-paid insurance premiums are deducted before taxes are assessed.
•Funeral Leave: Up to three days for death in immediate family.
•Jury Duty: Full pay less the amount paid by court.
•Leaves of Absence (including FMLA): Authorized time off for illness, maternity, education and other approved absences.
•Service Awards: Service pin after six months employment; then after each five-year interval. Ten Year Plus Club membership after 10 years of service.
•Direct Deposit: Employees receive their compensation through Direct Deposit to the financial institution of their choice.
•Discounts: Discounts on health club memberships, entertainment and other services through Personnel Services.
•Special Events: Picnics, parties, sporting events, etc.
