Company History
Saint Francis Hospital was constructed by William K. and Natalie Warren, Sr. and opened its doors in 1960. The first Warren Clinic was opened in Stillwater in January 1988; Laureate Psychiatric Clinic and Hospital was founded in 1989; The Children’s Hospital at Saint Francis was established in 1995; Saint Francis Hospital at Broken Arrow was purchased in 1998; Saint Francis Heart Hospital opened in 2004. Saint Francis Health System was formed to unite all of the related entities in 1997.
William K. Warren, Sr. and his wife Natalie Overall Warren dreamed of giving a gift to the city of Tulsa that would contribute to the community for generations to come. Saint Francis Hospital was built in 1960 on what was then the outskirts of Tulsa.
Why is Saint Francis pink? During the construction of Saint Francis Hospital, Mrs. William K. Warren, Sr. endeavored to create a hospital that looked “healthy” instead of “institutional.” She selected the Italian stone, pink modur, because throughout all times of day, the color looked the same.
