Advanced Paramedic - Pediatric Emergency Care (EMT-P)Join a dynamic team providing advanced life support services in a busy pediatric emergency department within a vibrant metropolitan region of the Southeastern United States. This full-time evening role involves delivering expert patient care and transportation duties authorized by EMT-P certification, supporting emergency, non-emergency, and long-distance medical transport.
Perform rescue operations independently or with a crew, accurately document patient care and billing information, and maintain compliance with established protocols. Work under the guidance of shift supervisors and training officers to meet demanding performance standards.
Education & Certifications- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (may be completed during orientation)
- Obtain Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within six months of hire
- Obtain Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within six months of hire
- Completion of NIMS 100, 200, and 700 courses required
- Valid state driver's license with at least three years of licensed driving experience
- Preferred minimum of one year field EMS, rescue, or related experience
- Experience with advanced life support services highly desirable
- Thorough knowledge of emergency medical procedures, rescue techniques, hazardous materials response, and communications equipment
- Familiarity with regional geography, including major streets, landmarks, and healthcare facilities, to be acquired within six months
- Ability to remain calm under stress and follow established protocols
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact compassionately and professionally with patients, families, and healthcare personnel
- Capability to safely operate various ambulance vehicles and perform heavy lifting up to 150 pounds with assistance
- Understanding of age-specific physiological, psychosocial, developmental, and spiritual patient needs
- Physical ability to navigate multiple environments, including confined spaces
