Description
Opportunity Description
This North Dallas-based boutique litigation firm is built for a seasoned Associate who wants more than a narrow slice of the litigation process. For an attorney with 3–5 years of litigation experience, this is an opportunity to move beyond supporting a large team and instead become a true case driver. You will work closely with experienced trial lawyers, developing strategy early and gaining the kind of practical courtroom and deposition experience that accelerates career growth. The firm’s lean structure means that your work will be visible, your judgment will matter and your development will be intentional. If you are looking for a role where you can sharpen your litigation toolkit, build stronger trial instincts and practice in a collaborative environment with direct mentorship and meaningful responsibility, this position will help you do exactly that.
Additionally, this opportunity offers:
- Substantial hands-on litigation experience, including depositions, hearings, motion practice and trial preparation
- Direct access to Partners and firm leadership, with active, targeted mentorship rather than occasional oversight
- Meaningful ownership of assigned cases, with the ability to influence case strategy and client outcomes early
- A boutique team environment where initiative is valued, collaboration is close and strong litigators are intentionally developed
Role Description
The firm is focused on professional liability defense (healthcare / med-mal), insurance defense, products liability and non-subscriber employee injury defense. We are seeking a Texas-licensed Litigation Associate with approximately 3–5 years of experience who is ready for a more substantive, hands-on role in an active litigation practice. This position is ideal for an attorney who already understands the fundamentals of case management and wants to deepen deposition, hearing, motion and trial-preparation experience while working side-by-side with experienced litigators in a smaller-team setting. You will not be siloed into a narrow support role; instead, you will be trusted with real responsibility, direct client interaction and meaningful exposure to strategy, all with close Partner access and practical mentorship designed to help you continue evolving into a stronger, more confident trial lawyer.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive written discovery strategy, including drafting targeted discovery, evaluating responses and positioning cases for depositions, motion practice and resolution
- Take and defend depositions of parties, fact witnesses and experts and prepare clients and witnesses for testimony with confidence and precision
- Draft persuasive pleadings, dispositive and non-dispositive motions, briefs and internal case analyses that advance litigation strategy
- Appear in court for hearings, conferences and other proceedings, with opportunities for meaningful oral advocacy and increasing stand-up responsibility
- Manage cases through all litigation phases, partnering closely with senior attorneys while exercising increasing independence in case progression and execution
- Serve as a key point of contact for clients, carriers, experts and witnesses, building trust through responsive communication and thoughtful case management
- Conduct legal research and factual analysis that informs case strategy, supports written advocacy and helps position matters for favorable outcomes
