Join Grifols as an EMT or Paramedic in our Healthcare & Medical Services department. Responsibilities include assessing patients, administering basic or advanced life support, monitoring vital signs, documenting care, and collaborating with physicians and nurses. Provide emergency medical care and life support to patients in pre-hospital and clinical settings as an EMT or Paramedic
Respond rapidly and safely to emergency calls, assess patient condition, and determine appropriate treatment and transport priorities
Perform clinical skills such as patient assessment, airway management, wound care, splinting, CPR, defibrillation, IV therapy, and medication administration within scope of practice
Operate and maintain ambulances, stretchers, monitoring equipment, and other emergency medical devices in safe working order
Communicate effectively with dispatch, nurses, physicians, and other members of the healthcare team to ensure coordinated, high-quality patient care
Document patient assessments, treatments, vital signs, and changes in condition accurately and in a timely manner using electronic or paper charting systems
Transport patients safely to and from ABC Healthcare and affiliated facilities, ensuring continuous monitoring and comfort
Educate patients and families on treatment provided, follow-up care, and appropriate use of emergency medical services
Follow all protocols, policies, and clinical guidelines established by ABC Healthcare, local EMS authorities, and regulatory bodies
Participate in ongoing training, skills refreshers, simulations, and quality improvement initiatives to maintain and advance clinical competency
Support a culture of compassion, inclusion, and teamwork consistent with ABC Healthcare’s mission and values
Maintain cleanliness, stock levels, and readiness of ambulances, emergency bags, and clinical areas at all times
Emergency patient assessment
Basic and advanced life support techniques
Airway management and ventilation
Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and defibrillation
IV insertion and fluid management (for Paramedics)
Medication administration within EMS scope
Operation of ambulances and emergency vehicles
Use of cardiac monitors and other EMS equipment
Electronic medical record and ePCR documentation
Infection control and safety protocols
Effective communication with patients and healthcare teams
Critical thinking and rapid decision-making
Calm crisis management and de-escalation
Time management in high-pressure situations

Current state EMT or Paramedic certification/licensure in good standing
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification for Paramedics; strongly preferred for EMTs where applicable
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or equivalent pediatric emergency care certification preferred
Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record for ambulance operation
Completion of an accredited EMT or Paramedic training program
Familiarity with local EMS protocols and regulatory requirements
