Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and proactive On-site Paramedic to join our construction team. The medic will be responsible for ensuring the health and safety of all personnel on the construction site through injury prevention, emergency response, drug testing, and wellness initiatives such as leading stretches. This role requires self-management, a calm demeanor under pressure, strong medical knowledge, and a commitment to fostering a safe work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide immediate first aid and medical care for injuries or illnesses on the construction site.
Assess and stabilize injured workers, coordinating with emergency services when necessary.
Collaborate with Safety Manager to identify and mitigate potential health and safety hazards on the site and improve company safety protocols.
Administer random and post-incident drug and alcohol tests in accordance with company policies.
Educate workers on health practices and injury prevention.
Assist in developing and implementing wellness programs tailored to the physical demands of construction work.
Manage and maintain an inventory of medical supplies and testing equipment, ensuring the onsite medical station is fully equipped.
Properly document and maintain accurate records of all medical and safety activities, incident reports, and daily summaries.
Ensure confidentiality and compliance with federal, state, and local health and safety regulations.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Requirements
Certified Paramedic, with valid state license/certification or National Registry
Minimum of 2 years of experience in emergency medical services.
Occupational health experience or the construction industry is a plus.
Certification in CPR, First Aid, and AED operation.
Experience administering drug and alcohol tests (preferred).
Knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety standards. OSHA-10 is a plus but not required.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with diverse teams.
Ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure situations.
Basic computer skills of Microsoft Suites for record-keeping and reporting.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
Must wear steel toe boots and required PPE.
Work Schedule: This is a full-time onsite position supporting a large construction project. Initial site hours are expected to run Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Saturday coverage will be required as the job ramps up. As the project progresses, site coverage will expand to 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM. This project will staff 2 paramedics with daily overlapping or alternating shifts.
